Past Book Chat / Ted Chat: The Secret to Living Longer May Be Your Social Life

Stanford parent and Book Chat Leader, Kat Sosnick, kicked off our Book Chat/TED Chat series with Susan Pinker’s book, The Village Effect, along with her TED talk “The secret to living longer may be your social life.” Susan Pinker made a guest appearance.

Coffee Chats are informal, open discussions to support one another as parents. Examples of past Coffee Chats:

  • Dr. Allison Belger, a Stanford parent and licensed psychologist, led a discussion on "Student Mental Health and Wellness."

  • Michelle Barmzel, a Stanford parent and Co-President of Massachusetts Association for Gifted Education (MAGE) led a chat on "Brilliant and Intense -- An Open Dialogue about Launching Really Smart Kids - College Edition."

  • Members of the Stanford Department of Public Safety and Stanford Transportation discussed "Bike & Personal Safety."
