Successful 2024!

2024 Career Closet Giveaway is in the books!  This year’s event was held on Friday, November 8.  For the first time, we were able to offer exclusive shopping hours for students with the greatest need before opening up the event to all students.  We gave away over 1400 items of clothing to 360 students in all.  Initial reports suggest that nearly everyone found something, and we were thrilled to see so many students with smiles on their faces!

Thank you to the many parents who cleaned out their own closets and donated their professional attire and their time to help make our 2024 Career Closet a tremendous success!  Parents’ Club partnered with the ASSU (student government), Stanford Career Ed, FLISSC (First Generation/Low Income Student Success Center), Stanford Alumni Association, Stanford Research Park, and the R&DE Office of Sustainability to collect over 1500 items of professional apparel.  In addition to our partners, we would like to thank the Stanford Bookstore for donating rolling racks and hangers for the event.

This important event could not have been done without your support!  Thank you to the volunteers who helped sort a garage full of clothing, diligently labeled and sized every piece of clothing, found the right tie to match a new suit, and made sure that the event check-in and checkout ran smoothly.  We also owe a huge THANK YOU to our co-chairs, Rita Patel and Lisa Fuchs.
