BIO:

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and came to Stanford in 2000 when my husband enrolled at Stanford Graduate School of Business. We have raised two children here, both proud Stanford students. My son completed his coterminal master's degree in 2025, and my daughter has just finished her junior year.Over the years, I have been actively involved with Stanford Parents’ Club (SPC), volunteering at events such as Family Weekend, Jam making etc. For the past two years, I co-chaired the Dish Hike with Ana, which gave me the opportunity to connect with many SPC parents while enjoying the beautiful Stanford surroundings.I currently work at Stanford Libraries and am also deeply involved in ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement. These days, I am enjoying my new empty-nest chapter of life.

TESTIMONIAL:

My most memorable experience as an SPC volunteer has been hosting the Dish Hike for the past two years. I especially enjoy seeing new parents connect and form friendships during the hikes. Knowing that these gatherings help build a supportive parent community makes me happy and reminds me why the Dish Hike is worth continuing.

A friend whose son had attended Stanford recommended that I join SPC. My son's first year coincided with the height of the COVID era, and it was difficult to learn about campus life, housing, and other aspects of the Stanford experience. Through SPC, I was able to get valuable information and connect with other parents. Those friendships made me feel more comfortable and confident during a very uncertain time
