Membership Timeline
Our membership timeline is a simple three-step process designed to help you connect with other families, access valuable resources, and become part of our vibrant community. From joining our Facebook group to becoming a formal member, each step brings you closer to meaningful engagement and support throughout your student’s Stanford journey.

We invite you to join our Parents & Guardians of Admitted Students 2030 Facebook Group, a supportive space to ask questions, share insights, and start building community with fellow families.
2 | May 1, 2026
Let us know you’d like to JOIN the Stanford Parents’ Club by completing our official membership form.
3 | May 15, 2026
After your student’s matriculation is verified, you’ll receive a welcome email confirming your membership and inviting you to join the official Class of 2030 Parents & Guardians Facebook Group.
Early Admission
Stanford’s Early Admission decisions are released in mid-December, an exciting milestone for students and families alike. Congratulations on your student's admission! We're thrilled to welcome you to the Stanford community! In the months ahead, keep an eye out for local receptions and virtual gatherings where newly admitted families can connect, celebrate, and begin building lasting Stanford friendships. This is just the beginning of an incredible journey!
Mid-December 2025
Congratulations on your student’s admission to Stanford! We're excited to welcome you to the Stanford Parents’ Club and look forward to officially embracing you on May 15, 2025.
In the meantime, join the Parents & Guardians of Admitted Students 2030 Facebook Group to connect with other families, ask questions, and share the excitement as your student begins their Stanford journey.
Varies
Admit Receptions are Stanford-hosted regional events led by enthusiastic alumni volunteers around the world. They offer a chance for newly admitted students (and sometimes their families) to meet one another, connect with alumni, and celebrate their admission.
Events vary by region. If a reception is planned in your area, your Stanford student will receive an email from Stanford with details and registration information.
Spring 2026
Spring is an exciting time as the journey to Stanford takes shape. Regular Decision admissions are announced in early April, followed by Parent Connection Zooms in mid-April — virtual gatherings where parents of admitted students can meet one another, share insights, and ask questions. At the end of April, Admit Weekend brings families together on campus for a vibrant celebration and an inside look at life at Stanford. And on May 15, we’ll officially welcome all Class of 2030 parents and guardians into the Stanford Parents’ Club community. We can’t wait to connect with you!

Admit Weekend
End of April 2026
The Stanford Parents’ Club will be out in full force during Admit Weekend, welcoming families on campus! Visit our Welcome Tables, meet parents at the Parent Mixer, and attend the Parent Panel to hear firsthand experiences and insights.
It’s a great opportunity to connect with other families, learn from current parents, and become part of our supportive community.

Summer/Autumn 2026
Over the summer, your student will complete Approaching Stanford, the official onboarding program that covers everything from housing to orientation. Join our Welcome Zooms to connect with other parents, ask questions, and feel prepared for this exciting transition. In September, we’ll see you at International Student Orientation (ISO) and New Student Orientation (NSO). Swing by the Stanford Parents' Club tables for a friendly chat and celebrate the start of your student’s Stanford journey!
May - September 2026
Approaching Stanford is the official onboarding program for all new undergraduate students. Throughout the summer, students receive helpful emails, forms, and guides to prepare for life at Stanford, everything from housing and course placement to orientation activities and campus resources.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to read Stanford's Summer Newsletters to stay informed and support their student’s transition. Approaching Stanford is the best place to start when getting ready for the year ahead.

International Student Orientation (ISO) and New Student Orientation (NSO) mark the official beginning of your student’s Stanford journey. It’s an exciting week filled with move-in activities, new friendships, and endless Cardinal spirit.

Approaching Stanford
🔑 Key facts about Approaching Stanford:

What it is: A transition process for all new undergraduates (frosh and transfers) as they prepare for Stanford.

Timeline: Begins in May, continues through summer, and culminates in New Student Orientation (NSO) in September.

Requirements: Students must complete summer tasks, such as health forms, housing applications, and course preferences.

New Student Orientation (NSO): A mandatory weeklong event starting with Move-In Day on Tuesday, September 15, when students officially enroll in courses.

New Student Orientation
Tuesday, September 16, 2025
Stanford invites parents and families to kick off New Student Orientation (NSO) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The day begins with New Student Move-In during the morning, followed by Community Welcomes and Open Houses throughout the afternoon. In the late afternoon, President Levin will officially welcome new students and their families at the Opening Convocation Ceremony. Following Convocation, students and their families traditionally say their goodbyes.
